I managed to get some cheap flights over to Dublin back in November to catch up with a few old mates I hadn’t seen in ages which was great. Tom got the train up from Cork where he is now living and we both stayed with Mike in Dublin. Dublin airport is massive now & the expansion plans will mean that its the third largest in Europe! I was only there for one night so we decided to make the most of it by heading to the temple bar area in the heart of the city and even though it was a Monday night there was still a good atmosphere. After going around a few of the bars, we settled on one that had offers on for bottled drinks, which was quite a relief as the other bars were expensive, not helped by the weak pound and the strong Euro - in fact that was the only down side to the trip, realising how expensive everything was there with the weak pound. There was a nightclub downstairs in the bar, so we headed down there and danced the night away in Dublin! The music was really good and it was great having a laugh with my mates. After demolishing a fry-up the following morning to cure the hangover it was time to return to the airport. A whistle-stop tour it was, but a very worthwhile one!!!
